7 Best Training to Neuro-Balance Therapy

 

From the Physiotherapy area we have prepared some exercises to work on balance from home.

Standing balance, ladder or step work, tandem and dynamic balancing on the go. We leave you a manual with the times and repetitions. There is no excuse, to work.

1. FOOT BALANCE

Once standing, we are going to perform the following exercises, follow by steps:

  • Stand with your feet together with your eyes open looking straight ahead. 30-60 seconds.
  • Stand with your feet together with your eyes closed looking straight ahead. 30-60 secs.
  • Standing on a cushion (unstable surface) with your eyes open. 30 60 secs.
  • Standing on a cushion (unstable surface) with your eyes closed. 30-60 secs.

WORKING WITH LADDER / SUITCASE / STEP

Stand in front of the ladder, suitcase or low stool (no more than 30 cm), if you need it, use front or side support. Use whatever object you use, place it abutting a wall. From that position:

Alternately go up and down the feet to the first step, if you see that the ladder is very short, go up to the second.
ROUNDS: 2-3
REPEATS: 15

Keep the leg up and bend

Bend the knee of the leg resting on the ground, towards the step. Once done with the right leg, switch to the left.
ROUNDS: 2-3
REPEATS: 15

Keep Your Leg Up

Keep your leg up and stand on your toes on your foot on the ground, then switch legs.
ROUNDS: 2-3
REPEATS: 15

TANDEM

The tandem consists of placing the heel of one foot in front of the tip of the opposite foot. Therefore, the beginning of the exercise will consist of holding the position for 30-60 seconds first with the right foot and then with the left foot. Place two chairs on each side for safety.
The progression of the exercise will consist of:
  • The same, but with eyes closed (30-60 secs)
  • In the same position, now with eyes open, reach with both hands. Progress can also be made by performing one set touching the backrest and another touching the seat to also include lower reach with trunk flexion.
ROUNDS: 2-3
REPEATS: 15


FOOT BALANCE MONOPODAL SUPPORT

You must make a progression by following the following steps:
  • Stand with your feet together with your eyes open looking straight ahead. 30-60 seconds.
  • Stand with your feet together with your eyes closed looking straight ahead. 30-60 secs.
  • Standing on a cushion (unstable surface) with your eyes open. 30-60 secs.
  • Standing on a cushion (unstable surface) with your eyes closed. 30-60 secs.

DYNAMIC BALANCE ON THE GO

This exercise should be done with supervision and in a safe environment. Each type of march can be done both forward and backward.
  • Tandem

  • Walk on tiptoe

  • Heel march

  • Military march (raising knees to the ceiling).
